Monkey Man trailer: Dev Patel turns John Wick, goes on a rampage

 The trailer of Dev Patel's directorial debut, 'Monkey Man' is now out. The film, starring Patel in the lead, also marks Sobhita Dhulipala and Sikandar Kher's directorial debut.

‘MONKEY MAN’ TRAILER OUT

The trailer of Dev Patel’s ‘Moneky Man’ is now out. The film not just has him in the lead, but has also been written and directed by him. The film also features Sobhita Dhulipala and Sikhandar Kher in pivotal roles.

The official note mentions, “‘Monkey Man’ stars Patel as Kid, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meagre living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash.

 After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.”

According to the official note, ‘Monkey Man’ is an ‘action thriller about one man’s quest for vengeance against the corrupt leaders who murdered his mother and continue to systemically victimise the poor and powerless’. 

The film is inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon embodying strength and courage.

The film also stars Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Adithi Kalkunte, Sikandar Kher and Makarand Deshpande alongside Dev Patel.

Monkey Man is produced by Dev Patel, Jomon Thomas, Oscar winner Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Christine Haebler and Anjay Nagpal. It will be releasing in theatres on April 5
